GIF
--Technical difficulties Uploading---
Following on with the inspiration from Patakk I used my own images from the British museum final visit to create a Gif that was simple but effective, and gave off an impression of fun and joyfulness. I wanted to do this because i didn't want to over complicate things and have the GIF to detailed and structured but relaxed and chill. The Gif was a success however I a unable to upload due to an error when attempting. Therfore I have left an image of what it would have looked like. ( polka dots move across the screen behind the main photo.) Patakk is a GIF artist that uses line drawings and transforms them into time based mediums. Patakks work uses looping properties that make it different from other video/image formats, they make you think in another way and that is what makes them exciting. He focuses on not breaking the loop and keeping it in perfect motion.
I really like how Patakk creates everlasting GIFs that will never include a start and finish. This infinite repeat of the frames to the GIF makes it looks almost alive and creates a sense that each time it is changing it looks different from the previous repeat. The linear aspect of his work makes them a lot easier to look at, due to them not being complicated and busy. They are very pleasing and almost pop out at the viewer because of the way the GIFs are designed and the colour scheme of them, often have contrast and are bright. I created a GIF that was surrounded by the concept of DADA. I used secondary images from the internet, cut them up and changed up the colours in photoshop. I then layered the images in a way that looked like a distorted face that was raising one hand. On the palm of the hand is an eye. Using layers within photoshop i saved two different JPEGs where the eye was open and closed. I opened these up in the timeline window within photoshop to give the appearences of it blinking. I then exported as a GIF. The GIF was successful as I managed to make it look like the hand was blinking, and also the DADA resemblance was there. It was a success and the artist research on Hannah Hoch helped as i was able to get influence for a distorted DADA face.
I created a Gif using photoshop's timeline tool with secondary photos from the internet that surrounded my Japanese theme. This was an experimental gif just to get used to the photoshop timeline tool and creating a gif file. I feel it went well and in the future i will create more advanced gifs.
